I have updated this page, it actually points to the new design now tho.
eventually all the pages will be updated but with this one ive added a gem,
im quite proud of my implementation of rob bridsons curl noise.
(even if its only one octave for now :) )

We follow the tradition here at Modernmayhem in providing you with useful tutorials that you can actually use in production and that makes you fully understand whats going on once and for all.

Hi everyone.
Just finished making a nice new splash page which was fun, in preparation for a site redesign, plus I was a bit sick so no tutes last week, sorry about that. I’ll put that up on sunday night. But…also on sunday/monday I’ll be publishing a new video, “Advanced FluidFx Scripting”. Once again it will be focused on production tips and techniques with ofcourse scripting.
The site is going up to $39 dollars before then too. (maybe $49 actually cos its turning into a full course!!).

Ok I’m redoing the whole site! The main reason is Im using the quicktime h264 codec from now on, plus I’m going thru all the previous video tutorials and re-compressing them. The quality is 10 times better and the download size is less than half!! oh and at 800 * 600 you can still see the fine details if not better than before.
So far I’m up to 5 out of 6 vids. Then the site re -do then the making the tornado rendering tutorial *aargh* Theres going to be some late nights this week!!
So, after the vids, Im doing a quick redesign also but Ill try and do the upgrading as seemless as possible. So just be warned. Dont bookmark too many pages even tho Ill leave them up and unchanged for a while.

Ok heres my to do list. In no particular order, unless you request one that is
- nCloth window shatter effect.
-As seen in my demo reel at the end. With particle animation also.
-I used blast code for that to break up the glass but I want to show how you could achieve the same thing with nCloth.- blood spurts
-Like the movie 300- dust:
-Better Fluid fx and particle integration techniques for driving particles
-sprite texturing and raytracing vs points and deepshadows- Making of Tornado project: Rendering:
-instancing fluidfx shader, mental ray motion blur
-3delight rendering
-deep shadows
-custom particle 3delight attributes
-Compositing the effect (maybe separate vid) using Fusion (altho Im learning Nuke now so maybe it will be in Nuke)- Real World Lighting of particles - techniques:
-lighting particles realistically with minimal light- blast code: (i keep putting this one off hehe theres so much else to do!)
-making of blast code test- Tweaking ambient occlusion and realistic scale
-mental ray final gather: tweaking for scale
-rendermans ambient occlusion: tweaking for scale
I also still have more scripts and particle techniques to put up but is best done as text and images.
After the next two video tutes go online, the price of admission into the site is going up. So you better get in early.
Sorry guys, the price has to go up, its too much of a good deal otherwise and the site server wont be able to handle the traffic. I’m still doing what I can to make the site faster.
