VIDEO TUTORIAL - Oil Smoke, Maya fluidFx and Fusion Compositing
We look at creating a complete oil smoke effect from beginning to end. Using Maya fluids and then lighting in maya, and compositing using Fusion (but will work with any compositing package).

The finished scene. It is the full size grid, so you could play it thru and set the initial state at frame 239. (then set start frame of the fluid to 239 also) or You will need to reduce the size in z to tweak the effect then put it back again to set the initial state as before.
